SV Road to boast of Metro towers

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC) has plans to change the face of Byappanahalli and SV Road after the successful beginning of Reach 1.The corporation has floated another tender to develop an area of 1.4 acre near SV Road metro station,which was acquired during the construction of station and track here.
This area can be developed into a shopping complex or hospital or even a utility building anything that raises additional income for the Metro and the land gets utilized, said a BMRC official.The BMRC is aiming to subsidize the cost of train fares in future by integrating other modes of transport from Vivekananda station.
A whopping Rs 50 crore is budgeted for the project development which will be called Namma Metro Towers.The development will be under the design,finance,build,operate and transfer mode under PPP mode.The bidding closes within 180 days of due date from December 1.
Earlier,the BMRC planned to have a shopping complex in front of Byappanahalli metro depot on Old Madras Road.
